The Challenge
The Cooper Union Great Hall is a National Historic Landmark — one of the most storied lecture and performance venues in American history. Every AV deployment must balance technical excellence with absolute respect for the architectural integrity of the space. Events range from academic symposia and faculty lectures to major public talks, political events, and cultural performances, each with unique technical requirements.
As the in-house partner, CitiView needed to be more than a vendor — we needed to become an extension of Cooper Union’s own operations team, anticipating needs, training staff, and ensuring seamless continuity across hundreds of events per year.
Our Solution
CitiView manages all AV production operations for Cooper Union events, serving as the on-call technical team for the institution. Our flagship configuration for the Great Hall centers on a triple LED wall system: one center wall at 4m × 7m flanked by two side panels at 2m × 4m each — creating an immersive, panoramic display environment that fills the hall’s historic stage.
NovaStar LED processing drives all three walls in perfect sync, with content routed through a Roland V-series video switcher and backed up by a Blackmagic Design ATEM. Our technical team is on-site for every event, providing full technical direction, camera operation, and real-time support.
