If somebody told you the first consumer high-res digital audio format was made available all the way back in 1948, would you believe them? Some say it wasn’t until the Super Audio CD (SACD) came around in 1999 and others will argue that as well.
I’m sure we can agree that both the SACD and The DVD-Audio (DVD-A) both sound better than the CD, but when was the first real consumer high-res audio made available to the public? You can listen to LPs from the 1970s and be convinced that this is where it started. Many recordings were filled with deep textures, synths, guitars, horns and percussion that were full of detail and most true music fans will tell you that it sounds better than anything produced in 2015.
But what’s the definition of high-resolution audio anyway? It sounds clearer and more like real music in simple terms. So this could be attributed to the vinyl LP that debuted back in 1948 with much better sound quality than the previous popular disk format.

Tired of looking at dark, blurry images on the screen? A projector is a great way to display presentations and can be very effective unless you have a dirty piece of equipment. While some cleaning steps are simple, others require a bit more attention.
- The first thing you’ll need to do is remove w the air filter assembly from the projector housing. If you are unsure how to do this, be sure to read the manual.
- Use a vacuum to suck out any dirt or debris that may be causing the image to look dirty or blurry. If you can’t get all of the dust, you can use warm soapy water to rinse it.
- Replace the air filter and put the housing back in place.
- Using a lens brush or a dry lint-free cloth, wipe the outer surface of the lens or lens cover. Be very gentle because if you rub too hard you can scratch the glass.

How Does It Work?
Sound waves need to be converted into electrical voltages and then converted back into soundwaves so an audience can hear the message through speakers. The microphone is a device that makes this all possible and they were first used with early telephones and radio transmitters.
How Did It All Begin?
Sir Charles Wheatstone was the first person to coin the phrase “microphone” in 1827 but it wasn’t until 1876 when Emile Berliner invented the first microphone used as a telephone voice transmitter. Soon after, the Bell Telephone company purchased the patent from Berliner for $50,000.
In 1942, the first ribbon microphone was invented for radio broadcasting and in 1964, Bell Laboratories received a patent for an electret microphone. This revolutionized the microphone industry with close to one billion produced each year. As technology continued to advance, more dynamic microphones were created which leaves us with the clear sound we hear today!
