What are the secrets to hosting a successful business meeting? While it may be daunting to stand up in front of a room full of business professionals to give a presentation, there are certain keys to leaving your audience with a lasting impression. Be organized, be prepared and have seamless audio visual integration.
There is no worse feeling that speaking in front of a crowd when your notes or your visuals are unorganized. Not only will it throw off the presenter, the crowd may become uninterested and lose focus. It’s vital to practice your presentation beforehand and make sure everything is in order before the day of the event.
Go into the meeting with a clear focus. What is it that you want to achieve? If you go in with a goal in mind, it will help you prepare to achieve the goal and stay on track.
It’s also a good idea to anticipate questions. Members of the audience may ask about certain topics covered during the presentation or more general questions about your company or your goals.

Picture this: you purchase a new set of speakers and are eager to try them out so you turn them on and you hear static. If you praise sound quality like we do, there’s no worse feeling than hearing fuzzy or cloudy sound. How can you fix this problem? See below for a few solutions:
- You may be hearing a ground loop caused by another component in the room. Try the speakers in another room along with your A/V receiver/amplifier and see if the problem persists.
- Try a new set of cables. Sometimes cables that aren’t properly shielded can cause interference.
- Invest in a power conditioner that offers isolation and surge protection.
- Connect the speakers themselves into the main L/R outputs of the receiver, if they sound fine you know it’s not a problem with the speakers.
- Check to make sure no wires are running across another electrical cord, metal duct or any other piece of equipment.

“CitiView Audio Visual provided top notch equipment and service for my New York City meeting of 200 physicians. They completely understood my needs and budget and worked with me to ensure that I had the proper equipment to make my meeting a success. They worked to set-up the show on a very tight early morning timeline and their approach onsite was “all hands on deck.” They interfaced very well with the union labor that the hotel required and it was clear that they had years of experience of working with NYC hotels. The on-site techs were professional and courteous while working with my speakers and definitely rolled with the punches when there were last minute changes to slides. I would definitely partner with CitiView again on future meetings.”

If somebody told you the first consumer high-res digital audio format was made available all the way back in 1948, would you believe them? Some say it wasn’t until the Super Audio CD (SACD) came around in 1999 and others will argue that as well.
I’m sure we can agree that both the SACD and The DVD-Audio (DVD-A) both sound better than the CD, but when was the first real consumer high-res audio made available to the public? You can listen to LPs from the 1970s and be convinced that this is where it started. Many recordings were filled with deep textures, synths, guitars, horns and percussion that were full of detail and most true music fans will tell you that it sounds better than anything produced in 2015.
But what’s the definition of high-resolution audio anyway? It sounds clearer and more like real music in simple terms. So this could be attributed to the vinyl LP that debuted back in 1948 with much better sound quality than the previous popular disk format.
We think the clearest answer is that there is no clear answer. It’s more about how the music makes you feel. If you can engage with the music and it makes you feel great, that’s all that matters.
Keep that in mind when you’re looking for professional audio solutions for your next live event. CitiView Audio Visual has what it takes to make it sound spectacular! Give us a call today at 212-632-5196 to learn more.
Mic check one, two. Check one, two. Have you ever heard the emcee or host of an event say this into the microphone before the show or presentation starts? They are testing out the sound system to create the best listening experience for their audience. There’s a lot that goes into a soundcheck so see below for some secrets to success.
First off, you’ll want to find the audio engineer as soon as your get to the venue. It’s important to get to know him or her and ask some general questions about the PA system. Try to find out how the system changes when there is a full audience in the room, because we all know things sound different in an empty room.
After speaking with the engineer and learning a bit about the venue, you can go ahead and start testing the mics. If there will be more than one mic, one for vocals and another for music or instruments, start with the vocal mic(s) first. Keep in mind that louder doesn’t always equal better.

Ever wonder what it takes for music, film and television to sound so clear and pleasing to our ears? We can guarantee that the first audio recording is not what you hear as the final product. Just think of how the air conditioning units, electrical buzzing from the power supply and car sirens or horns in the background would sound in the final production of your favorite song or movie. You can thank expert audio engineers and their restoration software for taking care of these undesirable sounds and creating “music to your ears”!
With home recording on the rise due to factors such as low budgets and little time, “dirty audio” is becoming more prevalent as well. Just think, while you may decide to belt out your latest song in your room it wasn’t built to filter out extraneous sounds.
That’s why you need to call in the experts who have a plethora of knowledge with audio restoration software. That’s where we come in! Our audio engineers have the latest technology and know exactly what it takes to make your event sound spectacular. We’ll provide you with the crystal clear sound you have been searching for!

If you had to guess the most popular way people listen to audio in their cars which method would you choose? With so many options, from satellite radio to smartphone streaming, chances are you wouldn’t choose traditional terrestrial radio, right? After all, more and more new cars are making it possible to connect to the internet where you can access just about anything, and we mean anything!
While some believe traditional radio news is on the verge of becoming obsolete, others “see an opportunity to reshape how news and information are conveyed,” according to Current. However, listening to traditional radio news may not be as traditional as you may think. Rivet Radio has created an app accessible via iOS and Android devices where users can set preferences and create news playlists based on what they want to hear as well as their location.
It’s important to keep in mind that we spend lots of time traveling via automobile and we all need something to keep us busy. Although advancements in technology are fast and ever changing, I’m sure we can all agree that we will continue listening to audio in our cars for years and years to come.
